Kitchens with Brick Floors

One of the kitchens we're currently working on will have brick floors. Really a great look - don't you think?

This is not a kitchen, but I love the brick floor!

  1. Love the brick floor, actually worked on a house a few years ago where they had this great white washed floor that they wanted to replace, I talked them into keeping it and when the kitchen was completed, they were in love with it all over again.....very pretty and nice to see something different!

  2. I like the look of brick and terra cotta floors in general. But there would have to be really compelling factors to make me choose brick over another material for my own home. However, there is nothing wrong with a show of individuality!

  3. They already have herringbone brick in the house so we're just going with matching existing surfaces. They will be heated floors so that will help with the functionality.

  4. We live in a warm climate and have brick floors in the master bedroom/bath with french doors opening to a private brick courtyard. We LOVE it! I wish I could incorporate more brick, but I do like the mixture of hardwood floors and the used brick.

  5. I love brick floors but they have to be old bricks! It's a great look for a sunroom as well.

  6. I'm interested in how you clean a brick floor!! Seems like it could be a little tricky. We live in a 150+ year old farmhouse with cracks between the old wood floors. Let's just say that I have quite a powerful vacuum!

Is it the same with brick? We are building an addition, and will have an area of brick floors. Just want to know what I'm getting myself into!
    THANKS,
    KATIE

  7. Do you have a good source for brick floors in the Atlanta area?

    Thanks!
