The warm, inviting kitchen pictured above wasn't always so gorgeous. This past summer we had the pleasure of working with a wonderful friend on a kitchen renovation. The kitchen now works better in daily living for the family, for entertaining and it's beautiful too. Form and function!
Caroline Reu was the architect and she figured out how to move some steps that were smack in the middle of where the kitchen needed to be. The family gained much more space for the kitchen by moving the stairs and even got an extra room upstairs too. The builder was JV Page Construction, cabinets were made by Morgan Creek Cabinetry, and counter tops are honed granite.
What an improvement! I prefer the microwave under the counter as well. In my last project I used the microwave drawer; hopefully, there will be a model soon that will accept an integrated wood front.
Wow, Helen, what a lovely space-making renno!
ReplyDeleteI'm a fan of rugs in the kitchen. Those one really breaks up all the floor. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteIt looks fabulous. Especially love the lighting!!
