When we were building our house a few years ago, one of features I most looked forward to was a tile backsplash in the kitchen. In my old bungalow, there was no backsplash - just sheet rock - and it got dirty after all of those years. I chose white subway tile and have been very happy with it. It's classic, simple and doesn't go out of style. The maintenance of it so far has been easy - just wipe with a damp sponge. I wish my grout lines were thinner - but nothing is ever perfect is it?
Whitehaven is currently working on a kitchen renovation (see this post). The cabinet style has been picked and after the counter top decision will come the backsplash. Here are some images we have pulled together to get us all inspired.
