Decorating with Baskets
image via decor pad
Want to add some Fall warmth and visual interest to a room? Decorate with baskets. You can fill them or leave them empty, they have plenty of texture on their own. Any room can benefit from a basket - living, dining, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, pantry, entry or storage areas. There are many sources for reasonably priced baskets - Pier One, Home Goods, Michael's, Target, Cost Plus World Bazaar.

I have a huge, terrific pantry that stores a ton, but needs help looking pretty. I had it looking good right after we moved in 2 1/2 years ago, but now it looks sloppy. I'm going to work on it and add organization and beauty with baskets. Will post before and after photos next week.

This is just a bit too encouraging for my wife who has to be restrained at the basked stores. She's a bit better now but still, there is nothing, nothing she won't put in a basket.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to read your post this morning. I have been looking for the basket in the second picture. (Tall with the two looped handles.) I know that everyone carries a version of this basket now, but I remember when it was new on the design scene several years back. I think those baskets were made better. Do you gals know where I can find one of the original, higher quality baskets that designers liked so much back then? I know they were big in Atlanta. do you know of stores that might carry them? To the trade is ok. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteOops.... 3rd picture from top!
ReplyDeleteYes, baskets are sure to create a feeling of abundance...I'm not a big abundance person but I like a basket now and then...
ReplyDeleteI love this post! I really love baskets...I find high quality ones at Homegoods and South of Market (of course) has some great ones. They bring such a natural element to the room.
ReplyDeleteIs it wrong that the baskets in the pantries are the ones that grabbed my attention? Wonder if that says just how bad my pantry looks. Hmm..
